The standards based curriculum at Kids 'R' Kids Learning Academy of Hixson is founded upon the educational theories of Sara Smilansky, Jean Piaget, and Lev Vygotsky. These three world renowned educational theorists have created a successful guide for the educational strategies utilized at all Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academies. We understand the need for age appropriate learning experiences for every child. Kids ‘R’ Kids is committed to helping every child, at every level through a process of teacher and peer interaction in our safe and creative environment as recommended by Vygotsky's theories of the development of the young mind. The Kids ‘R’ Kids curriculum scaffolds teaching strategies for every classroom and age. Piaget's framework of proposed stages in a child's developing ability to learn is also implemented at every level of growth.

Finally, at Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy of Hixson, we believe in Smilansky's teachings of learning through play. Our curriculum includes a plethora of indoor and outdoor playtime activities during every stage of learning. We are committed to creating excellent opportunities for children to explore and learn about the world around them! Smilansky, Vygotsky, and Piaget agree, young children learn best when they take an active role in constructing meaning from the world around them. 

Though similar in philosophy to Vygotsky, Piaget, and Smilansky's methods, the Montessori approach is another advocat of educational constructivism, but with some distinct differences in philosophy and approach.
